Edge Adjustable Handcuffs - Black

Each cuff fastens with a buckle and has foam padding, silver-coloured metal fittings and reinforced stitching. With the chain on, they are joined together. Without it, they are two separate wrist cuffs that you can attach to another piece using their rings.

How to use the Edge Adjustable Handcuffs

1. Agree a safe word before you start, and a hand signal in case the person who is tied up can't speak.
2. Decide whether you want the chain on. With it, the wrists are joined together. Without it, each cuff is used separately.
3. Wrap the cuff around the wrist and fasten the buckle so the padding sits firmly but isn't tight. You should be able to fit a finger between the cuff and the skin.
4. Attach other restraints to the rings if you want to fix them to another piece of bondage gear.

Cleaning

Wipe them with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then leave them to air dry before storing.

Our advice

• Always respect the safe word and release the cuffs as soon as it is called.
• Never leave a tied-up person on their own.
• Check the hands often. If they turn cold, tingle or change colour, loosen the cuffs straight away.
• Keep a pair of round-tipped scissors within reach to release the restraint if needed.
• Don't hang body weight from the cuffs or pull hard on the wrists.
• If you notice skin irritation, stop using them.

The studies we cite did not test these handcuffs. What has been studied is how talking clearly about consent affects couples.

In three studies, the first with 392 adults in couples, feeling a high level of internal consent and using explicit verbal signals were associated with greater sexual and relationship satisfaction.
